The fighting in Pharkant town, Kachin State, recently claims the life of a Grade-10 student Sai Jar Eain and wounded 8 others.

The residents also confirm there were fighting in Sept. 13 between Battalion 33 and KIO militia in the afternoon.

A villager says the schoolgirl is shot near the school where 8 others are wounded.
The fighting began in Mid-August and is getting worsens by time.
The fighting also displaced some 30,000 peoples who currently face food scarcity.
Because of that the Pharkant NLD office asks for donation of rice from NLD offices in other places.

“I’ve asked for some help from other NLD offices. There are over 30,000 refugees now. We can’t provide enough food to them.” says Tin Wal, a NLD member.
Currently the price of a bag of rice is roughly about 50,000 in Pharkant area.

A resident says the routes to Pharkant are currently blocked from Karmai.
According to the official numbers, there are more than 300,000 refugees in Kachin State alone.
